Resource Conservation Management Plan

RCM is the practice of reducing the consumption and cost of utility and energy related resources through no-cost and low-cost modifications by using:

  • Utility/energy and occupancy auditing tools;
  • Tracking tools (utility bills and profiles);
  • Utility bill improvements;
  • Load improvements;
  • Equipment improvements, and;
  • Behavioral changes.

The leadership of on-site, qualified, key individuals is essential to the success of a resource efficiency program. Buy-in to the RCM program by the people who work there, who have experience operating and maintaining the building, and who know their tenants, is key to generating significant cost savings and a healthier, safer environment.
