Environment Plan

An environmental plan gives life to a environmental strategy, and is designed to be consistent with the business plan. The object of the environmental plan is to delineate viable strategies that are economically and environmentally sustainable. The environmental plan also addresses roles and responsibilities for environmental actions within the plan.

A typical environmental plan includes the following:

  • Development of an environmental vision, mission and set of goals and objectives for the institution
  • Creation of a procurement program to guide purchasing practices
  • Implementation of a climate protection program to achieve a 20% reduction of emissions
  • Adoption of a waste diversion and toxic waste reduction program
  • Assessment and implementation of a biodiversity program for landscape
  • Design and implementation of a staff education program
  • Implementation of a community outreach program where applicable
  • Budgeting for administrative support and resources
